The Forges Burn With the Sound of Metal

Arlyn had not slacked on her blacksmithing, in the years of Hollowlights silence. She worked the forges, the bellow, and the anvil everyday when her prayers as a Paladin were all done for the day. This was no different. The gathering of the ores was the part she hated most, but the result was what mattered to her the most.

The forges in Hollowlight Headquarters were very well managed and taken care of. Well insulated, and with plenty of space for multiple people to work. She was alone on this day. She told her wife that she might be back home late that night, but that wasn’t outside of the normal for her.

The fires burned within the forge, metal ore within a tray to be melted down properly. Arlyn stood in front of them, keeping an ever watcohful eye to make sure nothing happened or went wrong. The process was not a fast one, and once the ore melted down, she would begin the next step. Hammering it out into ingots, and making it ready for proper use.

The metal cooled into a workable state, and she brought the hammer down. Bang, bang, bang, rotate. Bang, bang, bang. The process definitely providing her with the daily work out. There was easier options, but there was more satisfaction in doing it by hand.

Seconds turned to minutes, minutes turned to hours. She worked the forges as the sun moved through the sky. The dull glow of the forge illuminating the windows as night slowly fell on the area. She looked to the metal she had folded, and hammered out: over and over throughout the day. Arlyn set the hammer down on the table next to her, and she picked up the ingot in her hands.

The ore, turned ingot, was ready for use. Be that to forge a weapon, a shield, or a piece of armor. Durable and well done. She smiled at the work happy with what she has done. By the time she left the forge, and headed into The Metalworks, it was nearly midnight. She was not sure if anyone was even around at this time, but she left the ingot in the ‘ready to use’ section of the building.

She would be done tonight…but this process would probably be a daily occurrence until the supply was restocked for all to use.
