The start of the recording is silent at first, the sound of a sigh breaking the silence.
“I appreciate what they have done for us, sending us on…a vacation, as it was called, but as I sit in this room, alone with my thoughts and the force…I cannot fully appreciate this as it is deserved to be enjoyed and appreciated. We have not had time to ourselves in a long time, but…” Another sigh and the sound of shuffling around an otherwise empty room.
“A vacation is something that is meant to relieve stress and worry, if even for a short time. It is supposed to be a good thing for you, but I find myself more and more worried. Worried about what is happening while we are left here. Worrying that our allies are in trouble and in need of us. I am glad the others are finding enjoyment here…but I don’t know if I can, and I by no means will disrupt their enjoyment with my negativity. Wallace has his husband, Ollie has her brother, Thinarial and Saiya have each other, and Or-on has Jitatha.” The sound of her sitting down on the bed can be heard.
“How can I relax, knowing I failed Checkmate. Failed again and had to leave the task of…of giving him his wish, to someone else. How am I going to even face Omen and Peter after this, I couldn’t save their brother…I failed them both. How can I relax, knowing I still have much I need to teach my Padawan. I have not had time to train her properly since we have just been on the move. We have not had much time for anything else, except running from the Empire.”
Another more frustrated sigh is heard over the recording. “For the sake of everyone else…I will do what I can to enjoy this place…but perhaps it might be best if I just stay in my room, meditating instead of stepping out into the resort. Maybe I can find a way to earn credits for us while here…do you think they have a Pazzak den I can try my hand in?” The sound of footsteps going to turn the recording off.
